Mississippi State University encourages participation by employees in development programs that are job-related or that allow employees to function competently and effectively on the job.
Professional development programs, workshops, and activities are available on campus and are offered by specific departments. Employees are often notified of these opportunities through Campus Announcement emails.
The Center for Teaching and Learning offers workshops, seminars, and resources related to teaching and technology. The Office of Research and Economic Development offers a number of resources and training opportunities such as the Staff and Faculty Leadership Programs and International Programs. The Department of Human Resource Management also offers development workshops for employees. The Office of the Provost provides information on Sabbatical leaves for faculty research development.
In addition, MSU employees may take advantage of opportunities available off campus, such as conferences, workshops, and programs, with the approval of the employee’s unit head.
Please review the MSU Workforce Development Policy here for additional information.
