Significant life events or illnesses can temporarily hamper a faculty member’s research productivity, and therefore their ability to achieve Tenure. The Faculty Handbook (Promotion and Tenure, 4.8.3) and Provost’s Parental Leave Guidelines suggest options for accommodation of these significant life events.
